Enlarged image of the poem below as Xieyi
Verse 4
▶Original Text
▶Modern Translation
A white flower blooms on a rootless tree.
Its mind is as pure as a clear breeze and bright moon.
Untainted by dust, always immaculate;
Keeping its lonely watch, its heart is cold as ice.
▶Interpretation
Purity and loftiness without worldly stain.
A heart clear as wind and moonlit sky.
Ever unsullied by dust and desire.
Guarding itself in noble solitude, cool and unyielding.
▶Interpretation related to Tai Chi
Cultivate a pure, independent mind; movements grow naturally beautiful when the heart is spotless.
