Ancient poetry, the I Ching, the Tao Te Ching, and the Huangdi Neijing—as well as Western poetry and music, anecdotes and stories, and even the client’s own beliefs and philosophy—everything in the universe contains the principles of Wuji, Yin–Yang, Taiji, the Four Symbols, and the Eight Trigrams. All of these can be read as “Tao Codes,” as also described in the I Ching.
I am able to interpret these Tao Codes and visualize them as composition and form in Xieyi painting.

A Custom-Made Xieyi Painting in the Lineage of Wudang Taoist Adepts

Since ancient China, talismanic diagrams (Fu) have been used as wisdom grounded in the concepts of the I Ching—an approach for bringing universal laws into a space. Fu created by Taoist practitioners were sought by many who wished to attune homes, facilities, and places. Taoist adepts visited a client’s residence or site, read the flow, qualities, and symbols present there, and by painting Xieyi suited to that space, they infused it with the energy of Heaven’s workings.

Reviving the Taoist Tradition of Xieyi as Fu for the Modern World

Mukyoku Creation’s custom-made Xieyi paintings reinterpret the Taoist wisdom of “reading the place” and reconstruct it for contemporary spaces and everyday life.
I read the character and flow inherent in the space itself, determine the symbols and composition required there, and crystallize them into a single work of Xieyi that harmonizes with the workings of Heaven (universal laws).
This is Xieyi painting not to “decorate” a space, but to “attune” it.

Reading the Tao Code of a Space to Create a One-and-Only Xieyi Painting

Over 40 years ago, I studied one-on-one for more than a decade under my teacher—Master Wang, a Taoist sage of China’s Wudang Mountain—and received formal authorization. Since then, I have continued to refine Taiji practice, internal alchemy (Neidan), Taoist arts, Taiji philosophy, Xieyi painting, and evidential research. To convey this full body of knowledge, I published “Taijiquan History: The True Transmission” (Volumes I–III). I also published “Dialogues Between Laozi and a Housewife (Dao & De),” a complete reading of Laozi’s teaching, and I published the first complete work in the world to fully interpret Zhang Sanfeng’s philosophical poems “The Rootless Tree” across all 24 sections and 100 verses. As a Taijiquan instructor, I have also authored works on Taijiquan grounded in Taoist theory, including the principles of Taoist arts.

From these materials, I read the Tao Code, establish the composition as a Fu (talismanic symbolic structure), and visualize it as Xieyi painting.
Before final production, I present a CG preview for your confirmation; after receiving your feedback and requests, I make adjustments as needed and then complete the final work as a canvas painting for delivery.
